Privacy Statement

Welcome to the Arbor Books, Inc. (ABI) Web site. ABI is committed to your privacy. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by ABI.

We also participate in the Council of Better Business Bureaus' BBBOnLine Privacy Program, and comply with all BBBOnLine Privacy standards.

BBBOnLine is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. BBBOnLine's mission is to promote trust and confidence on the Internet through the BBBOnLine Reliability and the BBBOnLine Privacy programs. Launched in March 1999, BBBOnLine Privacy awards seals to online businesses that have been verified to be following good information practices.

Collected Information
You can visit the Web site without disclosing any information about yourself. As the sole recipient and owner of Personal Information collected on this Web site, it is our firm policy not to sell, share or rent any information we collect about any individual visitor.

In order for us to provide you with information about our services and/or a price quote, you must first either e-mail ABI, call ABI or fill out the Price Quote Form. We ask that you provide contact information (such as name, address, e-mail address and telephone number). We use that information to fulfill your request.

The ABI Web site or ABI may be sold, or other transactions may occur in which your Personal Information is one of the business assets transferred by ABI. In such a case, your Personal Information may be one of the business assets we transfer.

Children’s Privacy
The safety of children, both online and offline, is important to ABI. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PARENTS BEFORE USING THE WEB SITE OR PROVIDING YOUR NAME OR OTHER INFORMATION TO THE WEB SITE. YOU CANNOT SUBMIT INFORMATION TO THE ABI WEB SITE WITHOUT YOUR PARENTS' PERMISSION.

Parents and Guardians
This Web site is a "general adult audience" Web site. While the services ABI provides may be used by children, such as the publishing of a book, that service can only be provided with a signed contract by the child's parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect and/or share Personal Information from children under the age of 18 on the Web site. We therefore recommend using the Web site with your child if he or she is interested in participating in an interactive feature of the site, such as the Price Quote Form.

DISCLOSURE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES
ABI reserves the right to access and disclose Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests, to operate its systems properly, or to protect itself or others. ABI may attempt to obtain the prior consent of the individual before disclosing the Personal Information, but it has no obligation to do so.

Cookies and Web Beacons
Some of our Web pages use "cookies." A "cookie" is a small line of code placed in your computer's browser to store your preferences when you visit a cookie-enabled Web site. Cookies, by themselves, do not reveal your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information unless you choose to provide this information to us by, for example, filling out our Price Quote Form. However, once you choose to furnish us with personally identifiable information, this information may be linked to the data stored in the cookie.

We use cookies to understand site usage and to improve the content and offerings on our sites. For example, we may use cookies to personalize your experience at our Web pages (e.g., to recognize you by name when you return to our site).

"Web beacons," or clear.gifs, are small pieces of code placed on a Web page to monitor the behavior of and collect data about the visitors viewing a Web page. For example, Web beacons can be used to count the users who visit a Web page or to deliver a cookie to the browser of a visitor viewing that page. We may use Web beacons on this site from time to time for this and other purposes.

Tracking Information
As with many Web sites, ABI tracks and analyzes data about site visits. This data is used to better serve our customers and visitors by improving our Web site and our marketing. This data is used only for ABI and by ABI.

Sharing Information
Employees, agents and contractors of ABI who have access to personally identifiable information are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Notice by, for example, not using the information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for ABI.

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Notice.

Links
Our site contains links to other sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Visitors should consult the other sites' privacy notices as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the ABI Web site.

Newsletters and Announcements

You may receive a periodic newsletter, service announcements, or e-zine from ABI. If you no longer wish to receive these items, please write the word “REMOVE” in the subject line of the e-mail and send it right back to us.

Surveys and Contests
Periodically, ABI may run contests or surveys. Participation is always voluntary. In the case of contests, the Personal Information we may request is used to notify winners and award prizes. We use Personal Information collected in surveys to evaluate and improve our Web site and company.

Online and Offline Security

ABI has put into place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online.

Updating Personal Information
If your contact information changes (such as your e-mail address or mailing address), or if you no longer desire our service, please alert us via e-mail.
